The King Salman Relief Center continues to support medical clinics in Saada

continues The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center to provide generous and ongoing support to the brotherly Yemeni people through vital health projects aimed at alleviating human suffering. In this context, the Center continued operating its medical clinics in the Razih district of Saada Governorate, providing comprehensive curative and preventative services to thousands of beneficiaries suffering from a severe lack of basic healthcare due to the difficult conditions in the region.

The leading humanitarian role of the King Salman Relief Center in Yemen

Since its establishment, the Center has undertaken the responsibility of providing relief and humanitarian support to affected countries around the world, with particular attention to the Republic of Yemen due to the close fraternal and historical ties. These efforts come in response to the complex humanitarian crisis that Yemen has been experiencing for years, which has severely damaged a large part of the health sector's infrastructure. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arms, has worked to bridge this gap by dispatching medical convoys, supporting hospitals, and providing medicines and medical supplies to ensure that the most vulnerable groups have access to their fundamental right to treatment and adequate healthcare.

Healthcare statistics in Razih district, Saada

As part of these ongoing efforts, the medical clinics in Razih District recorded figures reflecting the actual progress achieved on the ground. During February, 626 individuals benefited from these services, receiving a variety of cases to address diverse health needs. The infectious disease control clinic saw 217 patients, highlighting the clinics' crucial preventative role in curbing the spread of epidemics. The emergency clinic received 141 patients, the internal medicine clinic 165, and the reproductive health clinic provided services to 33 individuals. The clinics' role extended beyond direct treatment to include preventative and awareness-raising initiatives, with the health education and awareness department serving 70 individuals.

Regarding accompanying health services, reports indicate that the nursing services department received 236 individuals, and free medication was dispensed to 541 patients, thus alleviating the financial burden on affected families. The surgery and dressing department also treated 4 patients. To ensure a safe and sustainable healthcare environment, 8 activities were implemented for the safe disposal of medical waste, a vital measure to prevent the spread of infection and maintain public health within the clinics and the local community.

Regional and international impact of Saudi medical aid

The importance of these initiatives extends beyond their direct local impact of saving lives and improving the quality of life for citizens in Saada; it encompasses broad regional and international dimensions. At the regional level, these efforts contribute to strengthening health stability and community security in Yemen, which positively impacts the security and stability of the region as a whole and reduces waves of internal and external displacement often driven by the search for basic services such as medical treatment.

At the international level, the continuation of these projects reinforces the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading donor nation in the field of global humanitarian work. These initiatives are closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the goal of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. The Kingdom’s commitment to providing relief and assistance reflects its noble mission of strengthening international solidarity and offers a practical model for how the international community can respond efficiently and effectively to complex humanitarian crises.
