Umrah Agents 1447: Egypt leads among 6,066 accredited agents

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced its latest statistics for the 1447 AH Umrah season, revealing the registration of 6,066 accredited foreign agents from around the world to organize Umrah trips. These figures coincide with record numbers of Umrah pilgrims, with approximately 904,000 pilgrims performing Umrah on a single day during the holy month of Ramadan. This reflects the scale of the organizational and operational efforts undertaken by the Kingdom to welcome the pilgrims and facilitate their rituals.
General context and the Kingdom's efforts within Vision 2030
These figures fall within the broader context of the comprehensive development plans underway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, embodied in Vision 2030. One of the most important goals of this vision is to increase the capacity to receive Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and provide world-class services that ensure a safe and convenient spiritual experience. The system of accredited foreign agents is a cornerstone in achieving this goal, as it ensures the organized flow of pilgrims from their countries and provides integrated service packages that include visas, accommodation, transportation, and guidance, in accordance with Saudi regulations and laws.
Egypt leads the way, followed by Pakistan and Algeria
Data showed that the Arab Republic of Egypt topped the list of countries in terms of the number of accredited agents, with a total of 935 active agents . This figure reflects the high demand for Umrah trips from the Egyptian market, which has historically been one of the largest sources of pilgrims. Pakistan followed in second place with 540 agents, and Algeria in third place with 520 agents, confirming the demographic weight of these countries in the Islamic world and the strong desire of their citizens to perform Umrah.
The importance of the event and its expected impact
Internationally, this extensive network of agents strengthens relations between the Kingdom and the Muslim world, highlighting its pivotal role in serving Muslims. This meticulous organization also contributes to highly efficient crowd management, particularly during peak seasons like Ramadan, ensuring smooth movement within the Two Holy Mosques and the holy sites. Domestically, the increased number of pilgrims and agents positively impacts the Saudi economy, stimulating vital sectors such as hotels, transportation, retail, and logistics, and creating thousands of job opportunities for Saudi citizens.
Yemen ranked fourth with 413 agents, followed by Sudan in fifth place with 407. These five countries together account for nearly half of all registered agents worldwide, highlighting the strategic importance of these markets within the Umrah system. The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques continues to implement its intensive operational plans to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims and provide them with a spiritually enriching environment.
