Saudi Post's efforts are a means to serve the pilgrims during the Hajj season

has announced Saudi Post its full operational readiness for this year's Hajj season (1447 AH), through an integrated system of logistical and postal services. The organization has dedicated all its human and technological resources to providing high-quality services aimed at facilitating the pilgrims' journey, enhancing operational efficiency, and elevating the pilgrim's experience at every stage of their spiritual journey.

The historical development of logistics services in Hajj

Historically, Saudi Arabia has witnessed tremendous development in crowd management and logistics during Hajj seasons. For decades, the pilgrim's journey was fraught with challenges related to baggage handling and travel procedures. With the launch of Vision 2030, the Guests of God Program emerged as one of the most important executive programs, from which the "Makkah Route Initiative" was launched, implemented by the Ministry of Interior for the eighth consecutive year. Saudi Post's participation in this initiative is a strategic step to streamline procedures for pilgrims from their home countries, starting with issuing visas electronically, completing passport procedures, and culminating in sorting and tagging luggage.

The role of Saudi Post in the Makkah Route Initiative

The Saudi Post Corporation is participating in this initiative through 17 international outlets across 10 countries worldwide. These countries include Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Maldives, Pakistan, Turkey, Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire, and, for the first time, Senegal and Brunei Darussalam. This integrated operational model facilitates the pilgrims' journey from their departure from the initiative's terminals in their home countries until their arrival at their accommodations in Mecca and Medina. Specialized staff tag the pilgrims' luggage at the airports in the participating countries, allowing it to be transported directly to their accommodations in the Kingdom without the need to wait at the arrival airports.

This system relies on a suite of advanced services that begin with the coding and sorting of luggage according to transportation and accommodation arrangements, continue with its collection at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, and conclude with its delivery to the pilgrims' accommodations. To ensure the success of these operations, the organization provides its services with a workforce of over 565 trained employees working around the clock, supported by a large logistics fleet of over 100 trucks and 65 vehicles dedicated to parcel transport.

Local and international impact of innovative postal services

The impact of these efforts extends beyond the local level, leaving a broad and positive mark regionally and internationally. By providing advanced and innovative services such as the delivery of "Nusk" cards, Hajj and sacrificial offering vouchers, the "Hajj Without Luggage" service, and the transportation of pilgrims, the Kingdom reflects its shining image in serving Islam and Muslims. This operational excellence enhances the efficiency of supply chains and raises the quality of services provided, thus solidifying the Kingdom's position as a global leader in managing major mass-scale events.

In addition, the organization continues to provide official mail, commercial publishing, and healthcare solutions services, supporting service sectors during the Hajj season. This active participation stems from the organization's role as a national operator and a logistical and geospatial enabler, through the integration of its operational systems and the strengthening of partnerships with government entities and the private sector, in support of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals of facilitating the hosting of more Umrah and Hajj pilgrims and providing them with the best possible services.
