Scout project management course launched in Jeddah to develop 50 leaders

The "Scouting Project Management" course, organized by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, kicked off in Jeddah at the Student Center, with the active participation of 50 trainees representing various scouting sectors across the Kingdom. This initiative is part of the Association's strategy to develop institutional work, enhance the efficiency of national personnel, and empower them to manage volunteer and scouting initiatives according to the latest international standards.
Development context and keeping pace with the national vision
This training course is particularly important given the developmental momentum underway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association is a key partner in promoting a culture of volunteerism and community service, in line with the goals of Vision 2030, which aims to reach one million volunteers. The shift from traditional activity management to a "project management" approach represents a qualitative transformation aimed at ensuring the sustainability of volunteer work and maximizing its social and economic impact, especially during major seasons such as Hajj and Umrah, where scouts play a pivotal role.
Modern methodologies in scouting management
Mohammed Al-Suwaid, Commissioner for Leadership Development at the Association's Secretariat, explained that the training program was designed as an extension of the ongoing development plans for scouting activity supervisors. The course aims to equip participants with the skills to transform ideas and initiatives into integrated, measurable projects by focusing on strategic planning, human and financial resource management, and measuring the return on investment from projects. This will positively impact the quality of programs offered to boys and young men in various regions.
Course themes and artistic dimensions
The course covers a wide range of specialized topics derived from Project Management Professional (PMP) principles and adapted to the scouting environment, including:
