The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia announced details of the maximum temperatures recorded today, Monday, in various regions and cities of the Kingdom, with Dammam recording 22 degrees Celsius. Temperatures varied significantly between the coastal, central, and northern regions, reflecting the great climatic diversity that the Kingdom enjoys during this time of year.

Expected weather phenomena: rain and fog

Regarding the general weather conditions, the National Center of Meteorology expects partly cloudy to cloudy skies across most regions, with a chance of light rain that may extend to parts of the southwestern highlands of the Kingdom. These forecasts are in line with the usual weather fluctuations for this time of year, with cumulonimbus clouds developing intermittently.

The center also issued an important alert for drivers and highway users, warning of continued fog formation that could reduce horizontal visibility. Areas affected by fog include parts of the Riyadh region, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Borders region, necessitating caution while driving during the early morning and late evening hours.

Climate diversity and the importance of monitoring weather forecasts

The report reveals a clear temperature variation, with coastal cities like Jeddah, Jazan, and Mecca maintaining relatively warm conditions, recording temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius, while central, northern, and highland regions such as Riyadh, Hail, and Al-Baha experience a noticeable drop to between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius. This geographical and climatic diversity is a prominent feature of Saudi Arabia's climate, as the northern and central regions are affected by cold air masses more quickly than the coastal areas bordering the Red Sea.

The National Center of Meteorology's reports are of paramount importance at both the local and regional levels, as vital sectors such as transportation, agriculture, and tourism rely on them. This data also plays a pivotal role in enhancing public safety through early warnings of weather phenomena such as fog and rain, enabling relevant authorities and citizens to take necessary precautions to cope with weather fluctuations.
