Saudi Arabia weather today: Temperatures in Dammam and Mecca and rain forecast

The National Center for Meteorology, in its daily report, revealed details of the weather conditions and maximum temperatures recorded in various regions and governorates of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Wednesday. This report comes as part of the ongoing monitoring of weather fluctuations in the Kingdom. The city of Dammam recorded a high of 23 degrees Celsius, while temperatures varied between higher and lower levels in other cities, reflecting the country's significant climatic and geographical diversity.

Statement of maximum temperatures in the cities of the Kingdom

Official data showed a significant variation in temperatures, with Mecca recording the highest maximum temperature at 30 degrees Celsius, while Al-Baha recorded the lowest maximum temperature at 15 degrees Celsius. The details for the remaining cities are as follows:

  • Dammam: 23 degrees Celsius.
  • Jeddah: 29 degrees Celsius.
  • Medina: 26 degrees Celsius.
  • Riyadh: 20 degrees Celsius.
  • Jazan: 28 degrees Celsius.
  • Tabuk, Buraidah, Hail, Arar, Sakaka, Al-Kharj, and Sharurah: 22 degrees Celsius.
  • Najran: 21 degrees Celsius.
  • Al Majma’ah and Al Dawadmi: 19 degrees Celsius.
  • Abha: 16 degrees Celsius.
  • Wadi Al-Dawasir: 23 degrees Celsius.

Geographical diversity and its impact on climate

This variation in temperatures reflects the diverse geography of Saudi Arabia. While coastal areas such as Jeddah, Dammam, and Jazan maintain relatively mild to warm temperatures due to the influence of water bodies and humidity, mountainous and highland regions like Abha and Al-Baha experience a noticeable drop in temperatures, a characteristic feature of Saudi summer resorts even during transitional periods of the year. In contrast, central and northern regions such as Riyadh and Hail experience temperature fluctuations dependent on the movement of prevailing air masses.

Rain forecast and weather phenomena

Regarding the accompanying weather phenomena, the National Center for Meteorology explained that the chance of thunderstorms and rain remains. These forecasts include rainfall accompanied by active winds that may stir up dust and sand in parts of the Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions, extending to the highlands of Makkah and Madinah. This weather pattern is part of the usual climatic conditions and requires caution while driving on mountain roads and slopes.

Fog alerts and traffic safety

In addition to the rain, the report warned of the possibility of fog formation, which could reduce horizontal visibility. Fog is expected to affect parts of the highlands in the aforementioned regions, as well as parts of the Eastern Province, the Northern Borders region, Hail, Al-Jawf, and Tabuk. These warnings are of utmost importance to drivers on highways and open roads, who are always advised to follow traffic safety guidelines, maintain safe distances, and use fog lights when necessary to ensure everyone's safety.
