Today's weather: Winds and dust in 6 regions and scattered rain

The National Center for Meteorology issued its daily report on weather conditions for today, Tuesday, in various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, indicating the continuation of weather fluctuations characterized by active surface winds and low horizontal visibility in several vital areas.
Weather details and affected areas
The report explained that the Kingdom is experiencing continued effects of active winds stirring up dust and sand, a common weather phenomenon during this transitional time of year. The Kingdom's desert geography contributes to the rapid impact of surface wind patterns on the atmosphere. This dust is expected to significantly reduce horizontal visibility across large parts of Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, Hail, Al-Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province .
In a related context, the center did not rule out the possibility of light rain in parts of northern Saudi Arabia, in addition to the potential for fog formation during the night and early morning hours, urging caution while driving. The chances of thunderstorms and fog also extend to the southwestern highlands, specifically in the Jazan and Asir .
State of the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf
Regarding maritime navigation, the Arabian Gulf rough conditions, with moderate to rough waves reaching heights of 1.5 to 2.5 meters, accompanied by westerly to northwesterly winds reaching speeds of up to 50 km/h. In the Red Sea , conditions are less severe, with wave heights ranging between 1 and 2 meters, and northerly to northwesterly winds.

Public health experts advise those with respiratory conditions and asthma, in particular, to avoid direct exposure to dust in the affected areas. Motorists traveling on highways between these areas are also advised to exercise caution due to the possibility of reduced horizontal visibility (1-3 kilometers) at times, which could affect traffic flow.
