The Grand Mufti of Kosovo appreciates the Kingdom's sponsorship of the Holy Quran competition in Kosovo

The Grand Mufti and Head of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, Sheikh Naim Ternava, expressed his deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support and sponsorship of the Quran competition for boys and girls in Kosovo. In a press statement, Ternava explained that this competition, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Islamic Community of Kosovo, represents a pioneering step in promoting the tolerant values of Islam and the fraternal bonds between the two brotherly countries, with the participation of up to 100 contestants.
Historical dimensions and a pioneering role in organizing the Holy Quran competition in Kosovo
This competition is an extension of the deep historical ties that bind the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Kosovo and the Balkans region in general. Since the 1990s, and throughout the periods of crises and wars that the region has endured, the Kingdom has been at the forefront of countries extending a helping hand to the people of Kosovo, whether through humanitarian aid or the reconstruction of mosques, cultural centers, and educational institutions. This generous support continues under the prosperous reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect them – extending beyond material support to include spiritual and educational support that reinforces the values of moderation and tolerance.
Regional and international impact of promoting Quranic values
Holding such Quranic events in the Balkans carries significant regional and international implications. It directly contributes to protecting youth and adolescents from extremist ideologies and promoting the culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence advocated by Islam. Furthermore, the ongoing coordination between the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and the Islamic Community of Kosovo reflects a shared vision of presenting the true image of Islam, based on peace and moderation. This impact is clearly evident in the overwhelmingly positive response from Kosovar society and the growing interest among families in encouraging their sons and daughters to memorize the Quran and reflect upon its meanings.
Exceptional efforts by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs
In a related context, Sheikh Naeem Ternava commended the significant role and diligent follow-up of His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh. He emphasized that His Excellency's directives and keen interest were the cornerstones of the successful organization of these distinguished Quranic competitions and the removal of all obstacles facing the participants. The Grand Mufti concluded his statement by praying for the Kingdom, its leadership and people, for continued security and stability, and that God reward those responsible for these blessed endeavors with the best of rewards for their service to Islam and Muslims throughout the world.
