Saudi support for Gaza: Thousands of meals to aid the most vulnerable groups

Saudi Arabia continues to provide support to Gaza through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center
Amid the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, Saudi Arabia continues to provide intensive support to alleviate the suffering of its residents. The central kitchen of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has continued its tireless efforts by distributing hot meals throughout the Gaza Strip. This initiative is part of the Saudi public campaign to aid the Palestinian people. The kitchen recently distributed 25,000 hot meals targeting the most vulnerable groups in central and southern Gaza, helping to provide sustenance to 25,000 individuals facing severe shortages of basic necessities.
Roots of Giving: A Historic Commitment to Supporting the Palestinian People
Standing with the Palestinian people is not limited to current crises, but extends back decades of unwavering solidarity. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always been among the first countries to respond to humanitarian appeals in Palestine. Since the establishment of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Kingdom has taken it upon itself to institutionalize this charitable work to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most efficiently. With the recent escalation of the crisis in Gaza, the Saudi leadership directed the launch of a large-scale public campaign, embodying fraternal solidarity, aimed at establishing air and sea bridges carrying thousands of tons of food, medicine, and shelter materials, serving as a true lifeline for those affected and alleviating the impact of the blockade.
Expanding the scope of aid: Food baskets and shelter tents
In addition to providing hot meals, the center also addressed other essential needs. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 987 food baskets and 50 shelter tents in the Al-Mashtal area of Gaza City, directly benefiting 6,222 individuals. Furthermore, aid extended to Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, where an additional 816 food baskets were distributed to the most vulnerable families, benefiting 4,896 individuals. These ongoing efforts are part of the "Baskets of Goodness" project, which primarily aims to support food security in the Gaza Strip and prevent the worsening of malnutrition among children, women, and the elderly.
Broad humanitarian dimensions: The impact of any Saudi support for Gaza, both locally and internationally
Any Saudi support for Gaza dimensions that extend far beyond mere emergency relief. Locally, this aid helps save thousands of lives from the threat of famine and provides them with the means to survive amidst collapsing infrastructure and scarce resources. Regionally, these initiatives strengthen the spirit of Arab and Islamic solidarity and underscore the Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work in the Middle East. Internationally, these Saudi efforts complement the endeavors of UN and international organizations, mitigating the humanitarian catastrophe and setting a model for rapid and effective responses to global crises, thus reaffirming the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to the principles of humanitarian solidarity.
