A scout camp to serve visitors to the Prophet's Mosque during Ramadan 2024

In a living embodiment of the values of giving and serving the guests of God, the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association launched its public service camp in Madinah, which will continue throughout the holy month of Ramadan. More than 350 scouts, leaders, and female leaders are participating in this camp, as part of a comprehensive field program aimed at providing the highest quality services to visitors of the Prophet's Mosque, including worshippers, those observing the fast, and pilgrims, and facilitating their spiritual experience in the city of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
A lasting legacy of giving and serving the Two Holy Mosques
This camp is a continuation of the long and distinguished tradition of volunteer work for which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is renowned, where the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors is an integral part of national and religious identity. The Kingdom's scouting movement has long been a pioneer in this field, consistently organizing public service camps in Mecca and Medina during the Hajj, Umrah, and Ramadan seasons for decades, setting a shining example of dedication and selflessness for the nation's youth.
Organizational importance at the peak of the spiritual season
The camp takes on special importance during Ramadan, when the Prophet's Mosque witnesses an influx of millions of visitors from around the world, who come to pray in the Rawdah al-Sharifah (the area between the Prophet's grave and his pulpit) and spend their time in worship. This massive human influx requires exceptional organizational efforts to ensure the smooth flow of movement and the safety of everyone. Here, the role of the scouts becomes crucial as a supportive and effective element for security and service personnel, contributing to crowd management, guiding those who are lost, assisting the elderly and people with disabilities, distributing Iftar meals, and providing first aid when needed.
Integrating efforts to achieve the goals of Vision 2030
The camp is implemented within an integrated framework and in close cooperation with various governmental and non-governmental entities, such as the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah Security, the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, and the Ministries of Education, Sports, and Human Resources. This coordination reflects the integration of roles and the unification of efforts to provide a rich and accessible experience for pilgrims, which aligns directly with the objectives of the "Guests of God Service Program," one of the most important programs of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enrich and deepen the Hajj, Umrah, and visitation experience.
Building the individual and instilling the values of citizenship
In addition to its service role, the camp serves as a practical educational platform for instilling noble values in the participating youth. It fosters a culture of volunteerism, hones their leadership skills, and reinforces a sense of responsibility and national belonging. The association emphasized that this initiative is a practical model for establishing the values of compassion, cooperation, and peace, and for showcasing the civilized image of the nation's youth in the field of humanitarian service, reflecting the message of the scouting movement and its active national and social role.
