Saudi Arabia in Davos: Quality of Life Program figures and its economic impact

In a move reflecting the scale of the rapid transformation taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Quality of Life Program , one of the most prominent programs for achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, presented a comprehensive overview of its achievements during a keynote session within the “NextOn” series, at the “Saudi House” pavilion initiative organized by the Ministry of Economy and Planning in Davos, Switzerland.

This participation coincides with the World Economic Forum (WEF) held from January 19 to 23, 2026, where the Kingdom seeks to highlight the progress made in diversifying the economy and improving the standard of living.

A comprehensive vision for quality of life

The Quality of Life Program Center was represented at the session by Sultan Al-Mulhem, Director of Sectoral Strategy Development, who provided an in-depth overview of the concept of quality of life in the Kingdom. Al-Mulhem explained how this concept has evolved from mere cosmetic improvements to a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , aiming to enhance the lifestyle of individuals and build a vibrant society.

The presentation indicated that the program did not only focus on social and recreational aspects, but also played a pivotal role in establishing a comprehensive concept that enhances the economic impact of various sectors and maximizes the social impact by encouraging healthy lifestyles and developing cultural, sports and tourism infrastructure in various regions of the Kingdom.

Record economic figures

The session reviewed the language of numbers that reflects the success of the strategies implemented, as the program revealed that the quality of life sectors contributed more than $20.5 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP , confirming that these sectors have become real growth engines for the national economy.

In a clear indication of the attractive investment environment created by the program's initiatives, the Kingdom attracted over $5.8 billion in non-governmental investments across quality of life sectors. These transformations also contributed to boosting non-oil imports by more than $5.6 billion, directly supporting the Vision's primary objective of reducing dependence on oil.

Enhancing Saudi Arabia's global leadership

This participation in Davos is of great strategic importance, as the session comes within the efforts of the Quality of Life Program Center to promote international dialogue and highlight Saudi Arabia’s pioneering experience in building an integrated system that combines social welfare and economic growth.

The “Saudi House” initiative in Davos is a vital platform to introduce global economic leaders and decision-makers to the promising opportunities in the Kingdom, and to reflect the true picture of the development that touches the lives of residents and visitors alike, thus enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a leading global destination to live, work and invest.
