The national campaign for charitable work raised 646 million riyals on its first day

An exceptional start to the sixth edition
In a scene reflecting the deeply rooted values of solidarity and generosity in Saudi society, the sixth edition of the National Charity Campaign made a strong start, with donations exceeding 646 million Saudi riyals on its first day alone. The campaign was launched on Friday evening through the national charity platform “Ihsan,” following the generous approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – who places great importance on charitable and humanitarian work, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan, when good deeds are multiplied and the highest ideals of giving are manifested.
Generous leadership support that sets a good example
As is its annual custom, the wise leadership was at the forefront of donors, with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, making a generous donation of 40 million riyals, while His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them both – donated 30 million riyals. This generous leadership support underscores the importance the state places on strengthening social solidarity and serves as a powerful incentive for citizens, residents, and business leaders to actively participate in this pioneering national initiative.
“Ihsan” platform: A digital revolution in charitable work
The National Campaign for Charitable Work is an extension of the successes achieved by the “Ihsan” platform since its launch by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). The platform aims to maximize the impact and effectiveness of the charitable and non-profit sector by leveraging the latest digital technologies. “Ihsan” provides donors with an easy, secure, and reliable experience, ensuring that donations reach those in need as quickly as possible across various sectors such as education, health, housing, relief, and others. This transparency and high level of reliability have contributed to building a bridge of trust between the platform and the community, leading to a year-on-year increase in donations.
Local and developmental impact of the campaign
The campaign's impact extends beyond providing direct financial assistance; it aims to achieve sustainable developmental impact in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to increase the non-profit sector's contribution to the GDP. Donations support development projects, alleviate hardship for those in need through the "Furijat" service, provide healthcare for patients in need, and support productive families, thereby strengthening social stability and contributing to a robust and diversified national economy. This broad community engagement reflects a growing awareness of the importance of social responsibility and its role in achieving comprehensive development.
