The National Campaign for Charitable Work raised 646 million riyals through the Ihsan platform

In an exceptional launch reflecting the values of giving and solidarity in Saudi society, the sixth edition of the National Charity Campaign, launched through the national charity platform “Ihsan,” recorded total donations exceeding 646 million Saudi riyals on its first day alone. The campaign was launched on Friday evening with the generous approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – continuing the tradition of charitable giving established by the wise leadership, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.
As is customary each year, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect them, were at the forefront of donors, making two generous contributions totaling 70 million riyals: 40 million riyals from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and 30 million riyals from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. This leadership support reflects the great importance the state places on the charitable sector and serves as a strong incentive for citizens, residents, and business leaders to participate in this national initiative.
General context and historical background
The National Charity Campaign is a prominent annual event associated with the month of Ramadan, a time when charitable acts increase significantly. This campaign builds upon the remarkable successes of its five previous editions, during which billions of riyals were raised to support thousands of deserving cases across the Kingdom. The campaign relies primarily on the “Ihsan” platform, established by royal decree as a trusted national platform overseen by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and several other official entities. Its aim is to maximize the impact of the non-profit sector and leverage technology to ensure that donations reach their intended recipients as quickly as possible, with the highest levels of transparency and reliability.
The importance of the event and its expected impact
This campaign is of paramount importance both locally and internationally. Locally , donations contribute to supporting a wide range of vital sectors, including healthcare, education, housing, and alleviating the hardship of those in need through the “Furijat” service, in addition to supporting orphans, widows, and the most vulnerable families. This not only strengthens social solidarity but also contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to empower the non-profit sector and increase its contribution to the GDP. Regionally and internationally , these initiatives enhance the Kingdom’s image as a leading nation in humanitarian and charitable work globally, highlighting the active role of Saudi society in supporting humanitarian causes and setting a model for leveraging technology to serve charitable endeavors.
Reaching this large number on the first day reflects the high level of trust that the community places in the “Ihsan” platform, and confirms the deep-rooted culture of giving in the hearts of the people of this country, who are always quick to extend a helping hand, seeking the pleasure of God Almighty in this holy month.
