The leadership congratulates the President of Kazakhstan on Independence Day: Strong relations

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, sent a congratulatory cable to His Excellency President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day, stressing - may God protect him - the depth of the ties that unite the two brotherly countries.

In his telegram, the King expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes for continued health and happiness to His Excellency, and for continued progress and prosperity to the government and people of the brotherly Republic of Kazakhstan, praising the continuous development of bilateral relations.

Crown Prince's congratulations

In the same context, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent a congratulatory cable to His Excellency President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day.

His Highness the Crown Prince expressed his best wishes for good health and happiness to His Excellency, and for further progress and prosperity to the government and people of the brotherly Republic of Kazakhstan, wishing the country continued security and stability.

Independence Day: A pivotal historical milestone

This congratulatory message coincides with the Republic of Kazakhstan's celebration of its National Independence Day, which falls on December 16th each year. This date is a pivotal day in Kazakh history, as the country declared its full independence in 1991, becoming the last of the Soviet republics to take this momentous step, thus ushering in a new era of national sovereignty and the building of a modern state based on pluralism and economic openness.

Strong Saudi-Kazakh relations

The messages from the wise leadership reflect the depth of the strategic relations that bind Riyadh and Astana, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was among the first countries to recognize Kazakhstan's independence and establish diplomatic relations with it. Over the past three decades, relations between the two countries have witnessed steady growth encompassing several vital areas, most notably cooperation in the energy sector, political coordination in international forums, and trade and investment exchange.

These relations gain additional importance in light of the great compatibility between the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the ambitious development plans in Kazakhstan, which opens up broad prospects for economic partnership between the two countries, which are among the world’s largest energy producers and active members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, thus enhancing their regional and international weight in supporting stability and development.
