The Saudi leadership offers condolences to the exiled Libyan army chief of staff
Within the framework of the deep fraternal ties that unite the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the sisterly State of Libya, and in embodiment of the Kingdom’s firm stance in standing by its brothers in times of hardship and adversity, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, sent a cable of condolences and sympathy to His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Yunis Al-Manfi, President of the Libyan Presidential Council.
This telegram came in response to the tragic news of the death of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army and his companions, who perished in a plane crash, an incident that cast a pall of grief over Libyan and Arab circles. In his telegram, His Majesty the King expressed his profound sorrow at this immense loss, saying: “We have learned of the death of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army and his companions in the plane crash. We extend to Your Excellency and the families of the deceased our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies. We pray to Almighty God to grant the deceased His abundant mercy and forgiveness, to grant their families patience and solace, and to protect you from all harm and misfortune. He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive.”.

Similarly, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent a cable of condolences to His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Younis Al-Manfi. His Highness expressed his sincere condolences to the Libyan leadership and the families of the victims, affirming the Kingdom's full solidarity with Libya during this difficult time.
In his telegram, His Highness the Crown Prince said: “I received the news of the death of the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army and his companions, as a result of the plane crash that was carrying them. I express to Your Excellency and to all the families of the deceased my deepest condolences and sincere sympathy, asking God Almighty to have mercy on the deceased, for He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive.”.
