Duaa Khodari wins two gold medals at the Kuwait International Invention Exhibition

Saudi inventor Duaa Khodari

In a new scientific achievement added to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s impressive record in international forums, Saudi inventor and member of the “Mawhiba” Association, Duaa Nizar Khodari, managed to steal the spotlight during her participation in the sixteenth edition of the International Invention Exhibition in the Middle East (IIFME), which was hosted by the sisterly State of Kuwait during the period from 8 to 12 February 2026.

A well-deserved crowning achievement and international recognition

Khodari won two gold medals, reflecting the quality of Saudi innovation and its ability to compete globally. The first gold medal was awarded by the exhibition management in recognition of the excellence of her invention, while the second was more specialized, earning her the "Best Invention at the Exhibition" award from the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA). The winning invention is an innovative device for filtering materials and recycling used liquids, an innovation with significant environmental and economic dimensions that contribute to promoting sustainability.

A career full of achievements

This victory was no accident; it is the culmination of a long scientific journey for inventor Duaa Khodari. She had previously won first place for the same device in the 2013 National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity "Ibdaa," an annual competition organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" in partnership with the Ministry of Education. Continuing to develop her project, Khodari received an official patent for the device in 2024, confirming its originality and high-efficiency industrial applicability.

The role of "Mawhiba" and the Kingdom's Vision 2030

Khodari's participation in this international event comes with the support and nomination of the Mawhiba Foundation, which is participating in the exhibition for the third time. This achievement embodies the fruits of the national strategy adopted by the Kingdom under Vision 2030, which aims to invest in human capital, discover promising national talents, and nurture them from an early age. Mawhiba works through an integrated system of enrichment and training programs to empower Saudi innovators to represent their country in regional and international forums and contribute to building a competitive, knowledge-based economy founded on innovation.

The importance of the International Exhibition of Inventions (IIFME)

This victory is particularly significant given the prestigious status of the International Invention Exhibition in the Middle East, one of the largest and most important specialized innovation exhibitions in the region. Launched in 2007, the exhibition has become an annual platform bringing together inventors and investors. Each year, the exhibition features fierce competition with over 180 inventions and attracts specialists and delegations from more than 34 countries worldwide, making this win a high-level international accreditation for the Saudi inventor.
