A Saudi breakfast banquet in Nairobi as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' program

As part of its ongoing efforts to serve Muslims worldwide during the holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the Republic of Kenya, organized a communal Iftar meal at the Grand Mosque in Nairobi. This initiative falls under the "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Program for Iftar," which the Ministry implements annually in dozens of countries around the world.
Background of the program and its lofty goals
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Program for Iftar (breaking the fast) is one of the most prominent humanitarian and religious initiatives launched annually by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The program aims to embody the values of solidarity and compassion advocated by Islam, and to extend a helping hand to Muslims around the world, especially in areas in need of support. The program's role extends beyond simply providing Iftar meals; it also seeks to bring Muslims together at one table, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and love among them and reinforcing social ties within Muslim communities in host countries.
The importance and impact of the event in Kenya
This banquet holds special significance in Kenya, home to a large Muslim community that forms an integral part of the national fabric. This event represents a powerful message of solidarity from the Kingdom, both its leadership and its people, to the Muslims of Kenya, and underscores the deep fraternal ties that bind the two countries. Locally, such events help alleviate the burden on needy families during Ramadan and provide a spiritual and faith-filled atmosphere that unites the diverse segments of Kenyan Muslim society.
The iftar banquet was well-attended, with the Deputy Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Kenya, Mr. Khalid bin Saeed Al-Zahrani, among the prominent figures in Kenyan Muslim society, including Dr. Adam Yunus Sheikh Ibrahim, Board Member and Advisor to the Supreme Council of Muslims in Kenya, and the Chief Justice of Personal Status, Mr. Suqyan Hassan. Approximately 100 fasting individuals participated in the banquet, in a scene reflecting the spirit of Islamic unity.
Positive feedback and gratitude towards the Saudi leadership
For their part, the beneficiaries and attendees expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – for their continuous support and care for Muslims throughout the world. They commended the significant efforts exerted by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in implementing this global program, which addresses the needs of Muslims and strengthens their unity, asking God Almighty to reward the Kingdom's leadership abundantly and to perpetuate the blessings of security, safety, and prosperity upon the Kingdom.
