The Foreign Minister discusses relations and recent developments with his South Korean counterpart

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation today with his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (South Korea), during which they discussed ways to strengthen the strong relations between the two friendly countries.
The call included a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation in various fields, as well as a discussion of the most prominent regional and international developments and issues of common interest, in a way that serves the interests of both countries and enhances security and stability in the region.
The depth of the strategic partnership: Saudi-Korean Vision 2030
These talks come at a time when Saudi-Korean relations are witnessing unprecedented qualitative development, driven by a shared desire to implement the "Saudi-Korean Vision 2030." This partnership serves as a model of international cooperation, where the ambitious goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 align with Korea's advanced expertise in technology, industry, and renewable energy. Through these diplomatic initiatives, the Kingdom seeks to localize modern technologies and attract high-quality investments that contribute to diversifying national income sources.
A rich history of diplomatic and economic cooperation
Relations between Riyadh and Seoul are based on a deep historical legacy dating back to 1962, the year diplomatic ties were established between the two countries. Over the past decades, Korean companies have played a pivotal role in major infrastructure projects in the Kingdom during its economic boom. Today, this cooperation is evolving to encompass vital sectors such as peaceful nuclear energy, defense industries, digital transformation, and smart cities, reflecting mutual trust and shared strategic interests.
The importance of political coordination and unifying positions
This contact is particularly important given the geopolitical challenges facing the world, as ongoing coordination between the two countries' foreign ministers is essential for unifying positions on global issues. South Korea views the Kingdom as a key and reliable partner in global energy security, while the Kingdom sees South Korea as a strategic partner in its development and modernization efforts. This diplomatic engagement underscores both sides' commitment to continued political consultations to promote international peace and security and to support efforts aimed at resolving crises peacefully through constructive dialogue.
