This meeting comes within the framework of ongoing consultations and continuous coordination between the two brotherly kingdoms, reflecting the depth of the fraternal relations that bind the two leaderships and the two brotherly peoples.
Review of historical relations and bilateral cooperation
During the meeting, the deep-rooted fraternal and historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan were reviewed. The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in various political, security, and economic fields. Saudi-Jordanian relations are distinguished as a model of Arab integration, based on a long legacy of mutual understanding and shared destiny, making their development a strategic priority for both countries.
The two ministers discussed opportunities to develop investment and trade partnerships, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the Jordanian economic modernization vision, stressing the importance of activating joint committees and coordination councils to raise the level of trade exchange and facilitate the movement of transport and work between the two neighboring countries.
Coordinating positions regarding regional developments
On the political front, the two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Palestinian territories. The ministers emphasized the need to intensify Arab and international efforts to halt the escalation of violence, protect civilians, and work towards a political horizon that guarantees a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.
This Saudi-Jordanian coordination is of paramount importance given the delicate circumstances in the Middle East, where Riyadh and Amman play a pivotal role in shaping a unified Arab stance on current crises. Both sides agreed to continue consultations and coordinate diplomatic efforts in international forums to serve the interests of both countries and support the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations, thereby enhancing security and stability in the region.
