Saudi Foreign Minister meets with Marco Rubio and Jim Risch in Washington

As part of strengthening the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a series of important high-level meetings in the American capital, Washington, D.C., including with executive and legislative leaders, during his official visit to the United States.
Meeting with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs began his meetings with a meeting with Senator Jim Risch, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The meeting included a comprehensive review of the close cooperative relations between the two friendly countries, and the importance of the role played by the US Congress in supporting the framework of this historic partnership was emphasized.
The two sides also discussed the most prominent issues and developments on the regional and international arenas, and exchanged views on ways to deal with the security and political challenges facing the Middle East region, in order to ensure the strengthening of international peace and security.
Strategic talks with Marco Rubio
In a related development, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met with his American counterpart, Marco Rubio. During the meeting, they reviewed the deep-rooted historical and strategic relations between Riyadh and Washington, and discussed ways to strengthen and develop these relations across various fields to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly nations.
The two ministers discussed at length the latest developments in the region and the diplomatic efforts being made to contain crises and achieve stability, stressing the need to continue joint coordination on issues of mutual interest.
The depth of Saudi-American relations
This visit is of particular importance given the current circumstances in the region and the world, as Saudi-American relations are a cornerstone of stability in the Middle East. These relations span more than eight decades, characterized by close cooperation in the fields of energy, security, counterterrorism, and the economy.
Through these diplomatic moves, the Kingdom seeks to affirm its pivotal role as a peacemaker and reliable partner in the region, especially in light of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which requires a stable regional environment that supports economic growth and prosperity.

The meetings were attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States of America, who plays a pivotal role in strengthening communication channels between the two countries, as well as Mr. Mohammed Al-Yahya, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
