Faisal bin Farhan congratulates the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister and they discuss regional issues

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, today made a telephone call to His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Kuwait, within the framework of the continuous coordination and ongoing consultation between the two countries’ diplomatic leaderships.
His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan began the call by extending his sincere congratulations to His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressing his best wishes for his success in his new duties and for the continued progress and prosperity of the brotherly Kuwaiti people. During the call, His Highness emphasized his eagerness for joint action and intensified diplomatic efforts to further strengthen the robust fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait.
The depth of historical and strategic relations
These talks reaffirm the deep-rooted historical ties between Riyadh and Kuwait, which transcend traditional diplomatic relations to reach the level of a strategic partnership and a shared destiny. These relations are based on a long legacy of brotherhood, blood ties, and kinship between the two peoples, as well as a consistent alignment of visions and positions on various issues.
The Kingdom and Kuwait are working diligently through the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council, which represents the institutional umbrella for developing bilateral relations in various political, economic and investment fields, in order to achieve the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries and support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and Kuwait’s Vision 2035, which aim to diversify sources of income and achieve sustainable development.
Strengthening the Gulf Cooperation Council's progress
During the call, the two sides discussed ways to support the joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) efforts, given the pivotal role both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait play in strengthening the GCC's unity. Coordination between the two countries' foreign ministers is a cornerstone for unifying Gulf positions on rapidly evolving regional and international challenges, and for ensuring the region's security and stability.
The call also touched on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, as Saudi and Kuwaiti views are identical regarding the need to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts, work to establish the foundations of peace in the Middle East, and confront the security challenges surrounding the region with wisdom and competence.
