40 female leaders trained for the Wood Badge in Riyadh under the patronage of Princess Sama

In a significant step that strengthens the presence of Saudi women in the volunteer and leadership sectors, the foundational Wood Badge course concluded in Riyadh, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sama bint Faisal Al Saud, President of the Saudi Girl Scouts Committee. This intensive training program resulted in the qualification of 40 female scout leaders, equipping them with the advanced leadership skills necessary to manage scout units effectively and efficiently.
The importance of the wood badge in scouting work
The Wood Badge is one of the most important leadership training programs in the global scouting movement, symbolizing high competence in leadership and training. Organizing this training course in Riyadh is part of the developmental initiatives underway at the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, which aim to align scouting activities with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. These goals include reaching one million volunteers and empowering women in various vital sectors, including the non-profit sector.
Details of the intensive training program
The Digital Technical College for Girls in Riyadh hosted a five-day training course, held from the 6th to the 10th of Sha'ban 1447 AH. The program featured an interactive training environment that focused on both practical and theoretical aspects. The course aimed directly to enhance the participants' skills through:
- Training on the latest educational skills in dealing with girls and young girls.
- Applying the concepts of teamwork and building effective teams.
- Learn the mechanisms of strategic planning for managing scouting units and developing their programs.

Through this program, the Scout Association aims to inject new blood of qualified female leaders capable of making a tangible, positive impact on society. In this context, Princess Sama bint Faisal emphasized to the participants the importance of not limiting themselves to the theoretical aspects of the study, stressing the significance of continuous field experience.
Her Highness explained that commitment to field work and holding periodic unit meetings is the best way to develop an independent leadership personality, which positively impacts the service of the nation and society, and enhances the role of scouts in national events and Hajj and Umrah seasons.
