Saudi Education Ministry: 68 million textbooks distributed and the "My Books" platform launched

In a move reflecting the extensive preparations for the new academic year, the Saudi Ministry of Education announced the successful completion of a massive logistical operation to deliver textbooks to students across the Kingdom's various regions and provinces. This step is part of a comprehensive system aimed at ensuring a strong and stable start to the educational process from the very first day of school.
Record numbers in course distribution
The Ministry revealed in its official statement that the total number of textbooks printed and distributed exceeded 68 million. This massive undertaking targeted over 6.4 million students across all levels of public education. These figures clearly indicate the scale of the Kingdom's education system, the largest in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, necessitating high-level coordination efforts to ensure access to knowledge for every student.
A precise distribution mechanism that includes schools and homes
To ensure the timely delivery of textbooks, the Ministry adopted a well-structured distribution plan covering more than 37,000 public and private schools. Not only that, but the Ministry also implemented a unique initiative: delivering textbooks directly to the homes of more than 30,000 students, taking into account their health or geographical circumstances, and reinforcing the principle of equal educational opportunities and meeting the needs of students from all backgrounds.
"My Books" platform: A leap towards digital transformation
In a related context, and in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals for digitizing government services, the Ministry announced the launch of the "My Books" platform. This new digital platform aims to facilitate the management of textbook inventory, improve the efficiency of supply and distribution chains, and ensure accurate tracking of deliveries. This step represents a significant leap forward that will support school administrators and teachers and enhance the quality of the educational process by providing accurate and real-time data.
National context and the importance of investing in education
This massive educational initiative reflects the wise leadership's commitment to the education sector, which receives the largest share of the state's general budget annually. The Kingdom recognizes that investing in human capital is the cornerstone of the Human Capacity Development Program, one of the programs under Vision 2030. Providing textbooks and a suitable learning environment is not merely a routine procedure, but rather the foundation for building a globally competitive generation.
The Ministry of Education concluded by affirming its continued work in developing the educational services system, and harnessing all technical and logistical solutions to ensure that educational content reaches students wherever they are, whether in major cities or in remote villages and hamlets, in support of their educational journey and in pursuit of a promising future.
