Saudi Arabia's 2026 Budget: Sector Figures and Expenditure Approval

The Saudi Cabinet, in its session held today, Tuesday, 11 Jumada al-Thani 1447 AH, corresponding to December 2, 2025, in Dammam, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs – may God protect him – approved the state budget for the upcoming fiscal year 1447/1448 AH (2026). This approval comes as a continuation of the economic and financial reforms taking place in the Kingdom under Vision 2030.

Official budget data revealed the allocation of funds across vital sectors, with human development and basic services taking center stage. The education sector received 202 billion riyals, reflecting the leadership's ongoing commitment to investing in human capital. Meanwhile, the health and social development sector received the largest share of allocations, at 259 billion riyals, underscoring the priority given to human health and quality of life.

Regarding the sovereign and security sectors, military expenditures reached 240 billion riyals, while expenditures for security and administrative regions amounted to 120 billion riyals. As for supporting the economy and infrastructure, 92 billion riyals were allocated to the economic resources sector, 35 billion riyals to the basic infrastructure and transportation sector, and 72 billion riyals to the municipal services sector. Expenditures for the public administration sector reached 57 billion riyals, and general expenditures totaled 236 billion riyals.
