Saudi Arabia welcomes the US lifting of Caesar Act sanctions on Syria
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed its profound welcome for the historic decision taken by the United States of America to lift the sanctions imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic, specifically those related to the Caesar Act. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia commended the positive and effective role played by His Excellency President Donald Trump in this regard. Saudi diplomacy praised the commitment demonstrated by the US President, beginning with his announcement of his intention to lift all sanctions imposed on Syria during his historic visit to Riyadh in May 2025, and culminating in his signing of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2026, which included an explicit provision to permanently repeal the Caesar Act.
