King Salman Center distributes food aid in Syria and Lebanon 2025

Continuing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s established humanitarian approach of extending a helping hand to affected peoples, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to implement its ambitious relief programs for 2025 AD, with the latest aid including areas in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Lebanese Republic, targeting the most needy groups in light of the difficult living conditions.
Supporting food security in rural Damascus
As part of ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people, the Damascus intensive relief activity by the center's teams. Yesterday, 1,200 complete food baskets were distributed, helping to secure basic necessities for 1,200 Syrian families. This aid is part of the Saudi aid distribution project for Syria, which aims to address the food gap experienced by many families as a result of the years-long crisis that has directly impacted supply chains and the purchasing power of citizens.
Urgent relief for refugees and the host community in Beirut
In parallel with its operations inside Syria, the center expanded its humanitarian response in the Lebanese capital, Beirut . Distributions included 808 food baskets and 808 cartons of dates, benefiting 4,040 individuals. This initiative was notable for its comprehensiveness, targeting Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, as well as the most vulnerable families within the Lebanese host community. This step is of paramount importance given the crippling economic crisis in Lebanon, which has led to an unprecedented surge in food prices, making access to food a daily challenge for thousands of families.
The Kingdom's pioneering role and history of giving
This aid is not a one-off event, but rather a link in a long chain of Saudi generosity. Since its establishment in 2015 under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has served as the Kingdom's humanitarian arm, providing assistance to more than 90 countries worldwide without discrimination. The Center's work is based on the principles of neutrality and transparency, targeting areas afflicted by natural disasters or conflicts, thus becoming one of the most important pillars of international humanitarian work in the region.
