Temperatures in Saudi Arabia today: Sakaka is the coldest at 14 degrees Celsius

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia issued its daily weather report and temperature forecast for various regions of the Kingdom for today, Saturday. This statement comes as part of the ongoing monitoring of the weather fluctuations the country is experiencing during this transitional period, with significant variations in conditions between the coastal, central, and northern regions.

Temperature details in Saudi cities

The weather forecast indicated a clear variation in recorded temperatures, with northern regions experiencing a noticeable drop compared to other areas. The forecast was as follows:

  • Northern region: Sakaka recorded the lowest temperature on the list at 14 degrees Celsius, followed by Arar at 16 degrees, then Hail at 17 degrees, and Tabuk at 18 degrees Celsius.
  • Central and Eastern Region: The capital Riyadh and Dammam are experiencing relatively moderate weather, with both recording 23 degrees Celsius, while Buraidah recorded 21 degrees.
  • In the western and southern regions, Mecca remains the hottest city at 30 degrees Celsius, followed by Jeddah and Jazan at 29 degrees, then Najran at 27 degrees, and Medina at 25 degrees. Meanwhile, the southern highlands of Abha and Al-Baha recorded cooler temperatures of 18 and 17 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The Kingdom's climatic and geographical diversity

This wide variation in temperatures reflects the diverse geographical nature of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While the northern regions (such as Sakaka and Arar) are affected by cold air masses coming from the north, making them the first areas to receive cold waves, the coastal areas adjacent to the Red Sea (such as Jeddah and Jazan) maintain warmer temperatures due to the influence of water bodies and relative humidity.

The importance of following weather forecasts

These reports are of paramount importance to citizens and residents for planning their daily activities, especially over the weekend. Experts advise residents of areas experiencing lower temperatures, particularly at night and in the early morning, to dress appropriately to avoid seasonal colds. This data is also vital for drivers on highways connecting different regions, as weather changes may be accompanied by other weather phenomena that require caution.

The National Center of Meteorology continues its vital role in monitoring weather changes and issuing early warnings, which contributes to enhancing public safety and raising community awareness about the prevailing weather conditions.
