Temperatures in Saudi Arabia today: Dammam 22 and Riyadh 20

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia revealed details of the weather conditions and expected temperatures today, Friday, across the various cities and governorates of the Kingdom. The data showed a significant variation in temperature rates between the coastal, central, and northern regions, reflecting the great climatic diversity that the country enjoys.

Temperature details in Saudi cities

According to the center's statement, Dammam in the Eastern Province recorded a high of 22 degrees Celsius, a relatively cool temperature, while the capital, Riyadh, recorded 20 degrees Celsius. In contrast, Mecca experienced warmer weather with a high of 32 degrees Celsius, followed by Jazan at 30 degrees and Jeddah at 29 degrees Celsius, indicating continued warm weather in the western and southern coastal regions.

In the northern regions and highlands, the weather was noticeably cooler, with Abha, Tabuk, Hail, and Al-Baha recording 19 degrees Celsius, while Buraidah recorded 18 degrees. The most significant drop in temperatures was in the northern border regions, where Arar recorded 14 degrees Celsius, Sakaka 15 degrees, and Najran 23 degrees Celsius.

Climatic and geographical diversity in the Kingdom

This daily report reflects the diverse geography of Saudi Arabia. Northern regions are typically affected by cold air masses from the north, resulting in the lowest temperatures, particularly during winter and spring. Coastal areas along the Red Sea, such as Jeddah and Jazan, maintain moderate to warm temperatures due to the influence of water bodies and humidity. Meanwhile, central regions like Riyadh have a continental climate characterized by cool nights and mild days at this time of year.

The importance of the National Center for Meteorology's reports

These daily reports are of paramount importance to citizens and residents, as they help in planning daily activities, especially over the weekend. They also play a vital role in alerting drivers on intercity highways to take precautions in case of weather phenomena such as fog or dust that may affect horizontal visibility, as the center has indicated in its ongoing warnings to ensure everyone's safety.

Experts always advise following official weather bulletins and their continuous updates through the National Center for Meteorology platforms, to ensure accurate information and avoid rumors related to the weather.
