Saudi Arabia weather today: Heavy rain, fog, and expected temperatures

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia, in its daily weather report for Saturday, revealed details of expected weather phenomena and maximum and minimum temperatures across the Kingdom's cities and provinces. The report indicates a state of atmospheric instability affecting several regions, ranging from heavy rainfall and dense fog to dust storms and sandstorms.
Details of weather phenomena: rain and fog
The center explained in its statement that the chance of thunderstorms, ranging from moderate to heavy, remains, accompanied by active winds and hail showers that could lead to flash floods in parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jawf, and Tabuk regions. This weather pattern also extends to parts of the Madinah region, particularly its coastal areas. Meanwhile, the Eastern Province and parts of the Riyadh region are experiencing a significant increase in humidity levels, creating conditions conducive to fog or mist formation, especially during the night and early morning hours, which may reduce horizontal visibility.
Climatic and geographical diversity in the Kingdom
This report reflects the great climatic diversity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a result of its vast geographical area and varied topography. While the northern regions and highlands experience lower temperatures and rainfall due to passing low-pressure systems, coastal areas such as Jeddah and Jazan maintain moderate to warm temperatures with high humidity. These periodic data releases from the National Center of Meteorology play a vital role in alerting citizens and residents, and assist relevant authorities such as Civil Defense and Traffic Police in taking necessary measures to ensure public safety, especially on highways and open roads that may be affected by dust storms or fog.
Temperatures recorded in major cities
Regarding temperatures, Mecca recorded a high of 32 degrees Celsius, while Medina recorded 30 degrees, and Riyadh 26 degrees. In the Eastern Province, Dammam reached a high of 28 degrees and Al-Ahsa 27 degrees, with very high humidity levels reaching 99% and 100% at times, increasing the likelihood of fog formation.
