The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia announced details of the minimum temperatures recorded in various cities and governorates of the Kingdom on Thursday/Friday night, as the atmosphere witnessed a noticeable variation in temperature rates between the coastal, central and northern regions, reflecting the geographical climatic diversity that characterizes the Kingdom.

The report details that the city of Dammam in the Eastern Province recorded a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, amid weather warnings of potential fog formation and surface wind activity that could affect horizontal visibility in some areas. This report is part of the center's ongoing monitoring to ensure the safety of citizens and residents and to provide accurate weather information.

The importance of weather monitoring and climate diversity in the Kingdom

These daily reports are of paramount importance given the vast size and diverse terrain of Saudi Arabia, which creates multiple climatic patterns simultaneously. While the northern regions experience cold winter weather requiring heavy winter clothing and the use of heating, the western coastal areas enjoy a milder, warmer climate.

This precise monitoring is a crucial part of the public safety system, helping drivers on intercity highways to take precautions, especially in areas prone to fog or temperatures that could lead to frost in the early morning hours. This data also supports vital sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and open-air recreational events.

The National Center of Meteorology calls on everyone to continuously follow official reports through its approved platforms to learn about the latest weather conditions and early warnings, especially during periods of transitional weather fluctuations.
