Today's maximum temperatures in Saudi Arabia: Dammam 27°C and Mecca 33°C

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia announced details of the maximum temperatures recorded today, Monday, across various regions and cities of the Kingdom. The data showed a marked variation reflecting the country's diverse geography and climate. The city of Dammam in the Eastern Province recorded 27 degrees Celsius, indicating relatively mild weather for this time of year.

Climatic and geographical diversity in the Kingdom
These figures reflect the diverse geography of Saudi Arabia, a vast, almost subcontinental country. While coastal areas like Jeddah, Yanbu, and Mecca experience temperatures that tend to be high, reaching or exceeding 30 degrees Celsius due to humidity and low altitude, mountainous and highland regions such as Abha, Al-Baha, and As-Soudah record much lower temperatures, with As-Soudah reaching only 17 degrees Celsius, making it a preferred tourist destination for those seeking cooler weather.
This temperature variation plays a major role in shaping the agricultural and economic patterns of each region, as temperate regions contribute to the cultivation of crops that differ from those grown in hot or coastal regions.
The importance of weather monitoring and tracking
The daily reports issued by the National Center for Meteorology are of great importance to citizens and residents, not only to know the appropriate type of clothing, but also because of their direct impact on daily planning and travel on highways connecting cities, in addition to their importance to vital sectors such as aviation, maritime navigation, and agriculture.
The National Center of Meteorology relies on the latest technologies from weather radars and satellites to provide accurate and up-to-date data, which contributes to raising the level of public safety and avoiding potential risks resulting from sudden weather fluctuations.
