Saudi Arabia distributes new food baskets to displaced people in southern Gaza

In line with its unwavering humanitarian commitment to Arab and Islamic causes, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continued its intensive relief efforts to support the brotherly Palestinian people in their current plight. Today, the Center's field teams distributed new quantities of comprehensive food baskets in the overcrowded camps for displaced persons in the southern Gaza Strip, as part of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Strip.
Meeting the urgent needs of displaced people
This food aid comes as an immediate response to the dire living conditions faced by thousands of Palestinian families displaced to the southern Gaza Strip. With the worsening humanitarian crisis and dwindling basic resources, these food baskets have become a lifeline for families who have lost their livelihoods and homes, helping to alleviate hunger and provide food security for the most vulnerable, including children, women, and the elderly.
The field teams of the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage – the implementing partner of the King Salman Relief Center in the Gaza Strip – undertook the task of distributing aid according to a precise organizational mechanism that ensures that support reaches those who deserve it with dignity and fairness, while taking into account international humanitarian standards in conflict zones.
Historical context and ongoing Saudi efforts
This relief effort is not an isolated event, but rather part of a long series of Saudi support for the Palestinian cause. Since the outbreak of recent events, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect them – directed the launch of the popular campaign through the "Sahem" platform, which witnessed widespread public engagement reflecting the solidarity of the Saudi people with their brothers in Palestine.
The Kingdom has operated a continuous air and sea bridge to transport thousands of tons of shelter, food and medical aid, in addition to ambulances and heavy equipment, in coordination with the Palestinian Red Crescent and international organizations, to ensure their entry through border crossings.
Regional and international impact of aid
This aid carries significance that transcends the purely material dimension; it underscores the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in international humanitarian work and its capacity for rapid response to crises and disasters. This support also bolsters the resilience of the Palestinian people and alleviates the severity of the humanitarian catastrophe that the United Nations and human rights organizations have warned against, thus placing the Kingdom at the forefront of donor nations and supporters of humanitarian stability in the region.
