Academic calendar: End of mid-year break and upcoming holidays

Students at all educational levels in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continue to enjoy their mid-year break . The countdown to the end of this period of rest and relaxation has begun, with only six days remaining before classes resume. The break officially began on Friday, the 20th of Rajab, and is scheduled to end on the 28th of the same month, after which students will return to their studies refreshed and ready.
The importance of holidays in enhancing academic achievement
These scheduled breaks within the academic calendar part of an educational strategy aimed at breaking the monotony of the school routine and alleviating psychological and mental stress on students. Educational studies indicate that short and medium-length breaks effectively contribute to mental rejuvenation, which positively impacts academic performance and comprehension upon returning to the classroom. These breaks also provide families with an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and enjoy quality time together, thus supporting the psychological well-being of their children.
Remaining holiday schedule: Founding Day and Ramadan
According to the approved schedule, students have several important milestones to look forward to during the remainder of the academic year. Perhaps the most notable feature of this year's calendar is the coincidence of a cherished national occasion with a significant spiritual month; the Founding Day during the holy month of Ramadan.
The national holiday falls on the fifth of Ramadan, a day that symbolizes the historical depth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as Saudis commemorate the founding of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727 AD. This coincidence adds a dual national and spiritual dimension to the educational experience, blending pride in history with the spirituality of the holy month.
Holidays and end of year
After returning from the Foundation Day holiday, students enter a short study period, in preparation for the Eid al-Fitr , which is one of the longest holidays during the semester, starting from the 17th of Ramadan and continuing until the 9th of Shawwal, giving students a full opportunity to enjoy the last ten days of Ramadan and the Eid celebrations.
In a related context, the calendar includes the Eid al-Adha , which begins on the 5th of Dhu al-Hijjah and extends to the 15th of the same month. These consecutive breaks serve as necessary intervals before entering the final stage of the academic year, which is scheduled to conclude with the end-of-year break on the 10th of Muharram 1448 AH, thus completing a balanced educational cycle that considers the academic, social, and religious aspects of students' lives.
