Launch of the "Safety of Pilgrims" initiative at Jeddah Airport to serve pilgrims

The Safe Treatment Association officially launched the “Safety of the Pilgrims” initiative as part of its pioneering community efforts aimed at raising health awareness and promoting the concept of safety among pilgrims to the Holy Mosque in Mecca. The launch of this humanitarian initiative took place during the reception of arriving pilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, in the presence of a high-level delegation from the association, headed by Executive Director Mona Binqash, Board Member Nihad Al-Tuwaireb, and Public Relations Director Taif Al-Sulami, along with the volunteer team. The field visit included the distribution of health kits, awareness messages, and medical guidance aimed at supporting pilgrims and maintaining their health from the moment they arrive in the Holy Land.
The historical context of the Kingdom's efforts in providing healthcare for pilgrims
Historically, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has placed great importance on the health of pilgrims visiting the Two Holy Mosques. Over the decades, its healthcare system for pilgrims has evolved into a global model for managing medical crowds. Civil society initiatives, such as those offered by the Safe Treatment Association, complement the extensive governmental efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities. This integration reflects the Kingdom's comprehensive vision of providing preventative and curative healthcare that ensures the performance of rituals in a safe and disease-free environment, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance the quality of services provided to pilgrims and facilitate their spiritual journey.
The importance of the Pilgrims' Safety Initiative and its expected impact
The importance of the Pilgrims' Safety Initiative lies in its proactive approach to mitigating health risks that pilgrims may face due to stress or climate changes. Locally, this initiative fosters a culture of volunteerism and community engagement among citizens, highlighting the role of the third sector in development. Regionally and internationally, it reflects the Kingdom's positive image as a leading nation in providing humanitarian and healthcare services, leaving a profound and positive impression on pilgrims returning to their home countries around the world, who carry with them a healthy and safe experience that reflects the exceptional care they received.
Details of the health kit and its preventive role
In this context, Talal Al-Nashri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Safe Treatment Association, explained that the initiative is part of the community engagement programs that the association is keen to implement annually, stemming from its responsibility to serve pilgrims and its belief in the importance of preventive and awareness-raising efforts to enable them to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind. Al-Nashri stated that the initiative includes welcoming pilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and distributing a "health kit" containing essential items that contribute to enhancing comfort and safety. These items include: a sun umbrella, a bottle of bottled water, a prayer mat, a medical mask, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and hand sanitizer. These simple items carry significant preventive value, helping pilgrims maintain their health while traveling and performing the rituals.
National and humanitarian responsibility
Al-Nashri added that serving pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques is a great honor and a national and humanitarian responsibility that the association cherishes. He emphasized that the Kingdom's comprehensive efforts reflect exceptional care and great concern for the comfort and safety of pilgrims. He commended the state's efforts, under the guidance and support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to dedicate all resources through an integrated system of health, organizational, accommodation, and transportation services. In closing, Al-Nashri praised the efforts of all the association's staff and volunteers for their dedication and commitment, and expressed his gratitude to the officials at King Abdulaziz International Airport for their cooperation and the facilities they provided to ensure the success of this noble humanitarian initiative.
