Campaign context and strategic objectives
This campaign comes as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency of its road network, which is one of the largest in the world, and to achieve the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy stemming from the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The campaign aims primarily to enhance safety and maintenance standards, reduce the rate of accidents and fatalities, and bring the Kingdom to sixth place globally in the road quality index.
The sixth edition of the campaign is particularly significant due to its expanded scope, with over 620 members distributed across 61 field teams. This alliance includes representatives from the transportation and logistics sector, Saudi university students to enhance their practical skills, members of the Special Forces for Road Security, and representatives from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, reflecting the integrated efforts of the government to ensure a high quality of life.
The importance and impact of community participation
The campaign is not limited to official efforts; the General Authority for Roads relies heavily on the pivotal role of citizens and residents in improving the urban landscape and road safety. Community participation in identifying observations and visual distortions is essential for the success of preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
In this context, the Authority reiterated its call for everyone to actively contribute by using official channels, specifically the 938 application or by contacting the reporting center at the same number. The Authority affirmed the readiness of its qualified teams to receive and handle reports quickly and effectively, in line with its commitment to providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for all road users in the Kingdom.
