The King Salman Center supports Yemen with educational and medical projects in Taiz and Lahj

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in the humanitarian and relief field, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center to implement a series of vital projects in the Republic of Yemen, targeting the most needy and affected sectors, namely education and health. These initiatives are a continuation of the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting the brotherly Yemeni people and alleviating their humanitarian suffering in various governorates.

Supporting the educational process in Lahj

As part of its efforts to enhance the educational environment, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 671 complete school bags to students of Al-Muhsinia School in Al-Hawta District, Lahj Governorate. This distribution is part of a broader project aimed at supporting the educational process in Al-Hawta and Tuban districts for the current academic year.

This support is not limited to simply distributing supplies, but also carries important developmental and social dimensions; these interventions aim to:

  • Relieving the economic burden on Yemeni families, which encourages them to send their children to schools.
  • Reducing the phenomenon of school dropout by providing basic tools for students.
  • Improving the readiness of the educational environment and creating a suitable climate for academic achievement.

A lifeline for war victims in Taiz

In a related development, and on the medical front, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed a significant joint cooperation agreement to operate the "Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center" in Taiz Governorate (Phase Eight). The agreement was signed virtually by the Assistant Supervisor General of the Center for Operations and Programs, Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, with the International Association for the Care of Victims of Wars and Disasters.

This project is of paramount strategic importance in Taiz Governorate specifically, given the population density and the scale of injuries resulting from the current circumstances. The project aims to provide services to 8,050 beneficiaries , including:

  1. Physical rehabilitation: Providing the necessary care for people with special needs and monitoring their cases.
  2. Prosthetics: Manufacturing and fitting prosthetic limbs of various types for those affected, helping them to regain their mobility and resume their normal lives.
  3. Functional rehabilitation: Training injured individuals to use their limbs and return to integration into society and the labor market.
  4. Developing medical personnel: Raising the professional and scientific efficiency of Yemeni medical teams to deal with complex and specialized cases.
