A royal directive to intensify Saudi aid to Gaza by land, sea, and air

In an urgent humanitarian response reflecting the depth of fraternal ties and the unwavering stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards the Palestinian cause, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect them - issued generous directives to intensify air, sea and land bridges to provide urgent relief to the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Details of intensive logistical and relief support
This directive reinforces the ongoing efforts of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, as the latest official statistics indicate a massive volume of aid already delivered. The Kingdom has thus far successfully established both an air and a sea bridge, reaching:
- 77 relief planes loaded with tons of aid.
- 8 cargo ships transported huge quantities of basic materials.
- Total cargo exceeded 7,699 tons of food, medical and shelter supplies.
The efforts were not limited to air and sea transport, but extended to include land bridges, as 912 Saudi relief trucks crossed into the sector, in addition to the delivery of 20 equipped ambulances to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society to support the dilapidated health sector in Gaza.
International partnerships and qualitative operations to overcome the blockade
Despite the challenges on the ground and the closure of border crossings, the Kingdom did not limit itself to traditional methods. Instead, it conducted specialized airdrops of aid in partnership with the Jordanian Armed Forces to ensure the delivery of food and medicine to those besieged in hard-to-reach areas. Furthermore, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed strategic agreements with international and UN organizations to implement relief projects within the Gaza Strip, totaling $90.35 million . This reflects the comprehensiveness and professionalism of the Saudi response in crisis management.
Historical context and the Kingdom's leading role
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, affirmed that these directives are a continuation of the Kingdom's longstanding approach, established since the era of its founder, King Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – of standing by the Palestinian people in all their trials and tribulations. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has historically been one of the largest donors and supporters of Palestine, whether through political support in international forums or direct economic and humanitarian aid, which underscores that Palestine will remain ever-present and firmly rooted in the hearts and minds of the Saudi leadership and people.
The importance of the Saudi popular campaign
Official efforts are complemented by widespread public support, with the "Saudi Popular Campaign for the Relief of the Palestinian People" playing a pivotal role in translating the sentiments of citizens and residents of the Kingdom into tangible aid. Dr. Al-Rabeeah noted that this generous support reflects the deeply rooted values of the Saudi people, who consistently demonstrate their noble stances and active presence in alleviating the suffering of those affected. He emphasized that this intensive support will continue to meet the growing needs of our brothers and sisters in Gaza.
