Historically, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has played a pivotal role in leading diplomatic efforts to unify the Arab and Islamic world and address regional crises. These initiatives stem from Riyadh's longstanding policy of rejecting violence and resolving conflicts peacefully. At the press conference held after the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed the Kingdom's and participating countries' strong condemnation of the Iranian aggression targeting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and several other Arab, Islamic, and friendly nations. He emphasized that Iran's insistence on destabilizing the region constitutes a blatant violation of international charters and international law, posing a direct threat to international peace and security.
The risks of continuing escalatory policies and supporting militias
The Foreign Minister clearly warned of the dangers of continuing escalatory policies, noting that the Kingdom has repeatedly sought to spare the region further tension, driven by its commitment to prioritizing wisdom. However, Tehran's insistence on violating the principles of good neighborliness has eroded trust in it at both the regional and international levels. His Highness stressed the necessity of an immediate cessation of these attacks, rejecting attempts to evade responsibility for the attacks that targeted residential areas and vital civilian infrastructure, resulting in significant human and material losses. He added that this behavior is not accidental, but rather an extension of a historical pattern of blackmail and sponsorship of armed militias to undermine the stability of neighboring countries, which is completely contrary to the teachings of Islam and undermines Islamic unity.
The repercussions of the tension on maritime navigation and the global economy
The strategic importance of the Arabian Gulf region, the Strait of Hormuz, and the surrounding waterways makes any military escalation a dangerous development with repercussions on the international stage. The meeting addressed the importance of protecting navigation and maritime routes, condemning attacks on commercial vessels and the disruption of shipping. Such practices not only harm security but also have serious consequences for the global economy and supply chains. His Highness noted that undermining freedom of navigation and targeting energy resources and food security directly and negatively impacts the economies of the most vulnerable developing countries, necessitating collective action to ensure safe passage and protect maritime security.

His Highness the Foreign Minister reiterated his welcome of the unprecedented international solidarity shown towards the current situation, as demonstrated by the support of 136 UN member states for the Security Council resolutions demanding an immediate cessation of attacks and an end to provocative actions. Participating countries emphasized the necessity for Iran to abandon its hostile policies and cease its support for proxies in the region. In closing the conference, His Highness stressed the importance of continued intensive coordination among the countries of the region to monitor developments, formulate common positions, and take legitimate measures to protect national security, thus paving the way for broad regional and international action that guarantees a secure and prosperous future.
