The Governor of Riyadh honors the winners of the Princess Seetah Award, 13th edition

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, and on his behalf, the capital city of Riyadh witnessed a prominent social event, where His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, honored the winners of the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work in its thirteenth session for the year 2025. The ceremony was held in the presence of a distinguished group of officials and pioneers in charitable work, headed by His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi.

A historical legacy and a noble humanitarian message

The Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award holds special significance in the Saudi landscape, drawing its strength from the remarkable legacy of Her Royal Highness Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on her – who was renowned throughout her life for her charitable initiatives and generous contributions to assisting the needy and supporting struggling families. The award was established by royal decree to solidify the culture of social and charitable work, encourage constructive competition among institutions and individuals to serve the community, and commemorate the memory of the late princess and her exemplary life of giving and generosity.

Alignment with the Kingdom's Vision 2030

The awarding of prizes under the theme "Social Intelligence in the Service of Humanity" reflects the qualitative development witnessed by the non-profit sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This award is a key contributor to the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which seeks to increase the non-profit sector's contribution to the GDP, promote the values ​​of social responsibility, encourage volunteerism, and transform charitable work from scattered individual efforts into sustainable, institutional work with a tangible impact on national development.

List of winners in the thirteenth session

The ceremony honored 10 winners who distinguished themselves with their projects and initiatives, after a strong competition that included 754 entries. The results were as follows:

  • National Achievement Branch (Government Entities): The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) and the General Directorate of Education in the Qassim Region jointly won it.
  • The Islamic Endowment Branch: It was jointly awarded to the Endowment for the Glorification of the Two Revelations in Medina and the Islamic University in Medina.
  • Social Work Programs Branch (Non-Profit Organizations): Shared equally between the Neighborhood Centers Association in Makkah and the Hajj and Umrah Services Association in Al-Jawf.
  • Social Work Pioneers Branch (Individuals): Winner: Mr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Othaim.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility Branch: Won by Sahara International Petrochemical Company “SABIC”.
  • Environmental Sustainability Branch: Shared equally between the Hail Region Municipality and King Khalid University.

Special recognition and a promising future

In a gesture of appreciation, His Royal Highness the Prince of Riyadh honored the Seeta bint Abdulaziz Endowment as the guest of honor for this session, in recognition of its pioneering role in institutionalizing humanitarian work. The launch of the fourteenth session was also announced, under the theme "Human Development and Strengthening Social Cohesion and National Loyalty," reaffirming the award's commitment to keeping pace with changes and meeting evolving national needs, thus remaining a beacon of excellence in social work both locally and regionally.
