Registration for the agricultural subsidies program has been extended until June 2026

The National Center for Palms and Dates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the extension of the registration period for its agricultural subsidies for the 2026 season (corresponding to 1447/1448 AH), until June 4, 2026. This strategic step aims to provide the largest possible segment of palm and date farmers with the opportunity to benefit from the financial and technical support offered, thereby ensuring the sustainability of this vital sector and developing its production capacities in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Eligibility requirements for obtaining agricultural subsidies for palm trees
The center explained that the program has a set of precise controls and criteria to ensure that support reaches its intended beneficiaries among small and medium-sized farmers across the Kingdom. Among the most prominent of these conditions are that the applicant be a Saudi citizen, at least 21 years old, and either own or lease the farm with valid, legally binding documents. The applicant must also possess a valid business license, the total area of the farm must not exceed 50 dunams, and the number of productive date palms must not exceed 500. Additionally, a water conservation certificate is required to ensure the preservation of groundwater resources.
Criteria for prioritizing and selecting beneficiaries
If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the program's target, the National Center for Palms and Dates indicated that a fair selection mechanism will be applied to determine priorities. This mechanism gives preference to farmers holding a self-employment permit, low-income families, married farmers, and older applicants. These criteria aim to achieve social justice and support the most vulnerable groups to empower them economically in the rural and agricultural sector.
The strategic importance of the date sector in the Saudi economy
The date palm and date sector in Saudi Arabia represents a rich historical and economic legacy; the Kingdom is among the world's largest producers and exporters of dates. These ongoing government initiatives aim to enhance national food security and increase the agricultural sector's contribution to non-oil GDP. Supporting farmers not only improves production quality and boosts exports but also creates jobs in rural areas and protects the environment by promoting sustainable agricultural practices and the use of modern technologies to combat agricultural pests such as the red palm weevil.
How to register and apply via the online portal
The National Center for Palms and Dates called on all farmers wishing to benefit from this support to submit their applications promptly before the deadline in June. Registration can be completed easily and conveniently through the center's official website (ncpd.gov.sa) or by scanning the QR code included in official announcements. This digital transformation of services aims to facilitate access for farmers and expedite the disbursement and direct support process.
