Results of the Bebras Talent Competition 2025 and record numbers of registrants

The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) has achieved a new milestone reflecting the growing digital awareness among students in Saudi Arabia. The “Bebras Mawhiba 2025” competition has set unprecedented records. This year’s edition witnessed a significant increase in participation, with 70,048 students registering, compared to 47,589 in 2024, representing a growth rate of approximately 47%.

The growth wasn't limited to registrations; it was clearly reflected in the number of actual test takers, which jumped from 39,571 last year to 60,519 this year, an increase of over 52%. Tomorrow, Mawhiba will announce the winners of the gold, silver, and bronze medals in an event eagerly awaited by the educational community and parents. The announcement will reveal precise statistical indicators illustrating the level of competitiveness and the distribution of results across the Kingdom's regions.

Bebras... A global gateway to information technology

The Bebras competition derives its significance from being an international initiative aimed at promoting informatics and computational thinking among school students of all ages. Launched internationally to instill computer science concepts without requiring prior programming experience, the competition is one of more than 70 participating countries in this global event, which annually attracts over two million students. The competition is distinguished by its engaging logic puzzles that simulate real-world programming problems, helping students grasp complex technical concepts in a simplified and appealing way.

Alignment with the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This growing interest in the “Bebras Mawhiba” competition aligns directly with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, specifically the Human Capital Development Program. The Kingdom aims to cultivate a promising digital generation capable of competing globally in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence. This competition serves as the first step in discovering emerging digital talents, paving the way for their inclusion in advanced “Mawhiba” programs and preparing them to represent the Kingdom in the International Olympiads in Informatics, where Saudi students have achieved remarkable successes in recent years.

Developing 21st Century Skills

The competition, which targets students from the third grade of primary school to the third grade of secondary school, focuses on developing essential skills for future jobs, most notably:

  • Algorithmic thinking: The ability to put together a sequence of steps to solve problems.
  • Analysis and abstraction: breaking down complex problems into simple, manageable elements.
  • Patterns and Logic: Discovering relationships between data and using mathematical logic to arrive at solutions.

Through the dedicated electronic platform, students from all regions of the Kingdom were given the opportunity to participate remotely, which ensures equal opportunities in accessing these advanced educational tools and promotes the spread of information technology culture in Saudi society.
