According to field reports, light rain was concentrated in Haql Governorate itself, extending to Wadi Mabrak, Al-Humaidah Center, Al-Durrah, and Al-Wasl neighborhood. In contrast, the New Valley Center and its surrounding areas experienced light to moderate rainfall, which contributed to cooler weather and a decrease in temperatures.
The rainy weather also included the “Abu Al-Hanishan” center and its suburbs, and the “Alu Al-Qasir” center, where moderate rain fell throughout the centers, which bodes well for a distinctive spring season in these areas that are characterized by their diverse geographical nature.
Clouds embrace the mountains... a breathtaking sight
Perhaps the most striking feature of today's weather was the enchanting sight of low clouds embracing the towering mountain peaks surrounding Haql Governorate. This magnificent scene prompted many motorists and hikers to stop and capture these moments, as the clouds blended with the mountains overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba in a majestic display reflecting the natural beauty of northern Saudi Arabia.
Haql... a jewel of the north and its breathtaking nature
These rains are of particular importance to Haql Governorate, nicknamed the "Jewel of the North." Located in the far northwest of Saudi Arabia, the governorate boasts a strategic location on the Gulf of Aqaba. The winter rains are vital for the region's vegetation, aiding the growth of the grasses and wild plants for which the area is renowned in the spring, thus enhancing its appeal as a tourist destination.
The Tabuk region in general, and Haql in particular, is one of the areas that experience active weather fluctuations during the winter season, as it is affected by weather depressions coming from the Mediterranean Sea, making it a favorite destination for weather enthusiasts and photographers looking to capture images that combine the sea, the mountain and the rain.
Weather conditions expected to continue
Initial forecasts and ongoing weather updates indicate that the sky will remain partly to mostly cloudy, maintaining the likelihood of further rainfall in the coming hours. Authorities consistently urge caution in such weather conditions, advising people to stay away from floodplains and valleys to enjoy the rain safely.
