The governor of Qatif is following up on the programs and development plans of the Abarq Association

On Tuesday, the Governor of Qatif, Abdullah Al-Saif, received at the Governorate headquarters, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abarq Association for Humanitarian Services in Hallat Mahish, Mr. Ahmed Jaafar Al-Yousef, accompanied by a delegation of the association’s staff, as part of the ongoing monitoring of the work in the non-profit sector in the Governorate.
This meeting is part of a series of periodic meetings held by the governorate to enhance communication with charitable and development associations, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which pays great attention to the third sector, and seeks to raise its contribution to the gross domestic product, increase the number of volunteers, and transform charitable work from direct sponsorship to sustainable development that leaves a long-term impact on society.
Review of development plans and initiatives
During the meeting, the governor was briefed on a detailed presentation about the most prominent development initiatives implemented by the Abarq Association to serve beneficiaries in the town of Hallat Mahish and surrounding areas. The presentation also covered the association's future plans, which aim to expand the scope of its services and adopt innovative solutions to address social challenges, ensuring the provision of high-quality services that meet the actual needs of beneficiary families.
Al-Saif praised the pivotal role played by the province's charitable organizations, including the Abarq Association, in addressing citizens' needs and contributing to improving their quality of life. He emphasized that these efforts enjoy unlimited support from the wise leadership—may God protect them—and close monitoring and continuous attention from His Royal Highness the Prince of the Eastern Province and his deputy—may God preserve them—who are always keen to overcome any obstacles that may hinder charitable work in the region.
Strengthening partnerships and institutional integration
In a related context, the Governor of Qatif urged the association's leadership to continue developing its programs and mechanisms, and to focus on activating strategic partnerships with various government entities and the private sector. This integration is a fundamental pillar for ensuring the financial and operational sustainability of associations, as effective partnerships contribute to the exchange of expertise, the unification of efforts, and the prevention of duplication in service delivery, thereby maximizing the social impact of implemented projects.
These guidelines are of particular importance in light of the transformations taking place in the non-profit sector in the Kingdom, where the focus has shifted to the professional and social empowerment of beneficiaries, rather than simply providing direct financial support, which requires strategic planning and organized institutional work.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Ahmed Al-Yousef, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abarq Association, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their generous support of humanitarian work. Al-Yousef also commended the Governor of Qatif for his significant support and diligent follow-up, affirming that his guidance would motivate the association to exert even greater effort and dedication, harnessing all available resources to serve the community and achieve its aspirations within the framework of the comprehensive development witnessed by the Kingdom.
