As part of its ongoing efforts to improve municipal and health services, the Qassim Region Municipality, represented by the Governorate Municipality, announced the implementation of 1,390 inspection tours in Uqlat as-Suqur during the first quarter of 2026. This strategic step comes within the framework of continuous and diligent efforts to enhance compliance with municipal and health requirements, and to ensure the provision of the best services to citizens and residents in the region.

The development of municipal work and the importance of intensifying monitoring tours in Uqlat as-Suqur

The governorate of Uqlat as-Suqur is a vital area in the Qassim region, experiencing rapid urban and commercial growth. Historically, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been committed to developing its municipal oversight system to align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which primarily aims to improve the urban landscape and enhance the quality of life in all cities and governorates across the Kingdom. In this context, these intensive inspection tours are crucial as part of a comprehensive national strategy designed to protect consumers and ensure the highest safety standards are met in all commercial and healthcare establishments.

First Quarter Figures and Statistics Details

The monitoring efforts carried out by the field teams included a precise distribution to ensure coverage of all vital sectors. A total of 419 visits were conducted to healthcare facilities to verify their compliance with required standards, in addition to 557 inspection tours targeting various professional establishments. These efforts extended beyond healthcare to encompass the aesthetic and urban aspects of the governorate, with 326 tours conducted to address visual distortions affecting the overall appearance, along with 52 monitoring tours to oversee excavation work and ensure contractors' adherence to traffic and occupational safety requirements.

The positive impact of enforcing regulations on public health

These intensive campaigns yielded tangible results, reflecting a firm commitment to enforcing regulations. Forty-two kilograms of food unfit for human consumption were confiscated and destroyed, protecting the local community from potential health risks. Additionally, 73 various violations were recorded, and four commercial establishments were closed for failing to comply with municipal requirements. Furthermore, in its engagement with the community, the municipality successfully addressed 38 reports related to health violations. This rigorous oversight not only benefits the Aqla Al-Suqur Governorate but also enhances the overall standing of the Qassim region as a safe, healthy, and attractive environment for investment and residents, thus supporting regional sustainable development goals.

Urban planning oversight and the role of the community in monitoring observations

Regarding building and construction oversight, the municipality conducted 36 thorough inspection tours to ensure that building owners and contractors adhere to approved licenses and engineering requirements. This resulted in the issuance of 11 warnings to violators, requiring them to rectify their situations. The Qassim Region Municipality believes that the true success of municipal work necessitates active community partnership. Therefore, the municipality calls upon all citizens and residents to cooperate continuously and promptly report any observations or violations that may be detected in markets or residential neighborhoods. Reports can be easily submitted through the Ministry-approved "Baladi" application or by directly contacting the unified reporting center at 940, ensuring a swift response and effective resolution.
