McDonald's Saudi Arabia launches a charity campaign to support Down syndrome 2026

McDonald's Saudi Arabia has announced details of its highly anticipated annual charity campaign, which will launch during the holy month of Ramadan in 2026, aiming to support and empower a cherished segment of society. This initiative, under the slogan "Your Support Completes Their Story," will focus its efforts on 265 children with Down syndrome, reflecting the company's unwavering commitment to its social responsibility and its role in sustainable development.

Strategic partnerships to serve the community

The campaign is distinguished by its participatory approach, implemented in close collaboration with three of the Kingdom's leading specialized charities: the Voice of Down Syndrome Association, the Diska Charitable Association, and the Efaa Association for the Care of People with Disabilities. This collaboration aims to unify efforts to fund six specialized, high-quality rehabilitation programs. These programs primarily seek to develop children's life and language skills and enhance their independence, thus facilitating their effective integration into society.

Details of rehabilitation programs and beneficiaries

The programs have been carefully designed to meet the precise needs of the children benefiting, and the support will be distributed as follows:

  • The DSCA Charitable Association: 60 children will benefit from the “Language and Functional Competency Enhancement” programs, which focus on improving communication skills and motor performance.
  • The Voice of Down Syndrome Association: Targeting 143 children through its “Self-Help and Reading and Writing” programs, to promote self-reliance and basic educational skills.
  • Efaa Charitable Society: It will provide its services to 59 children through the “Madarek and Maharah” programs, to develop cognitive and behavioral abilities.

These rehabilitation programs are scheduled to begin in practice during the period from September 2026 to June 2027, to ensure the continuity of the impact and the achievement of the desired results.

Community support and participation mechanism

The campaign devised multiple ways to engage the community in this humanitarian effort. The initiative aims to sell 200,000 educational storybooks at a nominal price of 10 riyals each, with all proceeds going to fund the aforementioned programs. Additionally, McDonald's Saudi Arabia has enabled its customers to make direct donations by redeeming loyalty points through the official McDonald's app, facilitating the contribution process and broadening participation.
