Zain Saudi Arabia and the Development Bank partner to support entrepreneurs and productive families

In a move reflecting the private sector's commitment to its pivotal role in national development, Zain Saudi Arabia announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with the Social Development Bank. This announcement was made during the second edition of the Entrepreneurship and Modern Work Styles Forum (DeveG0), held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, from December 21 to 23, 2025.
Dimensions of the partnership and its developmental goals
This ambitious agreement aims to unite the efforts of the telecommunications giant and the leading social finance bank to provide a comprehensive package of support for entrepreneurs and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This initiative responds to the growing need to diversify income sources and empower productive sectors to contribute effectively to the GDP, aligning perfectly with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to increase the contribution of MSMEs to the national economy.
The “Yamam Café” initiative: A model for sustainable empowerment
One of the most significant outcomes of this partnership is the launch of joint initiatives, most notably the “Yamam Café” project. This initiative is distinguished by providing practical solutions for productive families by allocating dedicated spaces for them within Zain Saudi Arabia’s headquarters. This approach goes beyond mere financial support, extending to the creation of a vibrant marketing environment that allows these families direct access to a wide range of customers (company employees and visitors), thus ensuring the sustainability and growth of their projects.
Context of economic and social transformation
This partnership takes on particular significance when viewed within the context of the Kingdom's economic transformations. The Social Development Bank is a cornerstone in empowering citizens and encouraging entrepreneurship, while Zain Saudi Arabia exemplifies national companies that embrace sustainable social responsibility. The integration of these two roles contributes to strengthening the "third sector" (the non-profit and social sector) and transforming it into a productive and effective force.
Enhancing the work environment and employee experience
Commenting on the event, Ms. Luluah bint Saad Al-Nuwaisser, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Zain Saudi Arabia, stated: “Our partnership with the Social Development Bank reflects Zain Saudi Arabia’s approach to building an integrated work system that transcends its traditional role to become a platform for economic and social empowerment, combining individual empowerment with the development of Saudi society.” She added that the company views the work environment as an engine for development, noting that the presence of productive families within the company enhances the employee experience and connects them to the values of giving and productivity.
Expected local impact
This partnership is expected to set a precedent for other private sector companies, transforming support from mere sponsorships into strategic partnerships that create added value for the local economy. It will also contribute to reducing unemployment rates and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, thereby strengthening the Kingdom's social and economic fabric in the long term.
