This came during his speech at the annual ceremony of the “Binaa” Association, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province. Prince Turki bin Mohammed emphasized that this support reflects the leadership’s firm belief in the importance of this sector as a key partner in the comprehensive national development process.
The non-profit sector and Saudi Vision 2030
This growing interest in the non-profit sector is part of Saudi Vision 2030 , which has set ambitious goals to enhance its role and increase its contribution to GDP from less than 1% to 5%. The Kingdom is working to develop the sector's legislative and regulatory environment and provide the necessary incentives to enable it to achieve a deeper and more sustainable impact. Historically, charitable work and social solidarity have been a cornerstone of Saudi society, and today, the state seeks to institutionalize this work and direct it towards innovative development programs that meet evolving societal needs and contribute to national prosperity.
The importance of empowering orphans and its societal impact
In his address, His Highness emphasized that the “Binaa” Association operates in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership to empower the sector, stating: “Since its inception, the Association has aimed to be a pioneer in creating a comprehensive environment for orphans, enabling them to become productive and contributing members of society, serving their faith and their nation.” He added that caring for orphans is not limited to providing shelter and basic necessities, but extends to psychological, educational, and vocational rehabilitation, transforming them into active and productive members of society. This investment in human capital strengthens social cohesion, reduces disparities, and contributes to building a conscious and responsible generation capable of facing future challenges and actively participating in the advancement of their nation.
Achievements and ongoing recognition
Prince Turki bin Mohammed noted that the association's receipt of numerous prestigious local and international awards is a testament to its successful journey and the excellence of its programs. He added, "These achievements reflect the stature the association has attained and prove that it is on the right track, thanks to the members of its board of directors, its management, and its supporters from all sectors.".
In closing, His Highness expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, for sponsoring the ceremony and his continued support for the association’s initiatives. He also thanked all the supporters, both individuals and companies, for their interest and contributions, which are the main driver for the success of the association’s projects and the achievement of its noble humanitarian mission.
