The Governor of the Eastern Province will sponsor the second Roads and Transport Forum in Dammam tomorrow

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Province Development Authority, will inaugurate the second edition of the "Roads and Transportation Forum" tomorrow, Sunday, in Dammam. Organized by the Eastern Province Development Authority, this important event, themed "Moving Steadily Towards a Future that Aligns with Our Vision," will run for two days and will feature wide participation from experts and decision-makers.
Forum Agenda and 2026 Projects
The second edition of the forum aims to highlight the future of the transportation sector in the region. The agenda includes a comprehensive review of road projects planned for implementation in the Eastern Province up to 2026. The event will also witness the signing of a package of strategic agreements aimed at supporting the transportation system and enhancing infrastructure efficiency, which will positively impact the quality of life for residents and visitors. The forum will feature panel discussions and scientific lectures addressing key challenges and opportunities, with a focus on showcasing the latest technologies and smart solutions in road engineering and traffic management.
The strategic importance of the Eastern Province
This forum is of particular importance given the Eastern Province's pivotal geographical and economic location. It is the industrial and energy capital of the Kingdom and a key link with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Therefore, developing its road and transportation network not only serves local mobility but is also a fundamental pillar for supporting regional and international trade and logistics. Improving the infrastructure in this region directly contributes to enhancing its investment appeal and facilitating the movement of goods and passengers through vital land and sea ports.
Keeping pace with the Kingdom's Vision 2030
The organization of this forum is perfectly aligned with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, specifically the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to solidify the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents. Through these events, stakeholders are working to strengthen public-private partnerships to ensure the implementation of sustainable projects that adhere to international safety standards and protect the environment, thus contributing to comprehensive urban development.
Enhancing quality of life
For his part, the Acting CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority, Dr. Talal bin Nabil Al-Maghlouth, expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness the Prince of the Eastern Province for his generous patronage, emphasizing that this ongoing support is the primary driver of the Authority's successful initiatives. He noted that the forum's outcomes will directly contribute to improving the urban landscape and raising the level of services provided, thereby enhancing community well-being and achieving the desired integration among all governmental and service entities.
