Princess Nourah University celebrates its founding day with an innovative digital exhibition
Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University 's Media and Knowledge Impact Department organized a special exhibition on Monday and Tuesday, February 16-17, 2026, to commemorate founding day . The exhibition was part of the permanent digital media exhibition at the university's central library. This event reflects the university's commitment to celebrating national occasions in a modern way that aligns with the Kingdom's digital transformation.
Historical depth and national message
Celebrating Saudi Arabia's Founding Day commemorates the depth of Saudi history, spanning more than three centuries since the establishment of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727. This occasion holds immense significance as it connects current generations to their deep-rooted heritage and highlights the nation's achievements in stability and development. In this context, Princess Nourah University ensured its exhibition served as a bridge connecting this rich legacy with the language of the digital age, aiming to strengthen national identity among students and university staff.
An interactive journey through time
The university provided faculty, staff, and students with an opportunity to explore a wealth of knowledge through innovative methods. The exhibition featured approximately 20 interactive digital screens that took visitors on a visual journey through time. These screens showcased pivotal moments in Saudi history, beginning with the reigns of imams and kings, continuing through Diriyah and its status as the first Saudi capital, and culminating in a display of historical palaces that testify to the rich heritage of Saudi architecture.
Heritage and culture in a technological format
The exhibition not only presented a historical narrative but also highlighted the Kingdom's cultural and social heritage. Visitors interacted with visual displays showcasing the traditional craft of Sadu weaving, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as exhibits of traditional costumes from various regions of the Kingdom, reflecting the country's rich cultural diversity. The exhibition also included a selfie corner with a patriotic frame inspired by the symbolism of the Founding Day logo, adding a vibrant and interactive element to the event.
Leading the way in digital media and keeping pace with the vision
Professor Abeer Al-Farhan, supervisor of the Digital Media Exhibition, explained that this event underscores the university's role in leading the way in knowledge dissemination. This exhibition is the first platform of its kind for digital media content among Saudi universities. This initiative aligns perfectly with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , which encourages innovation in preserving heritage and utilizing modern technologies to strengthen national identity, thus solidifying Princess Nourah University's position as a beacon of science, culture, and creativity.
