Princess Nourah University celebrates its founding day with heritage and artistic events

In an atmosphere filled with feelings of pride and national identity, Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University celebrated the occasion of "Founding Day" through a wide range of cultural and artistic events organized by the various agencies, deanships and colleges of the university, to highlight the historical and civilizational depth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that extends for more than three centuries.
Artistic paintings that embody the epic of construction
The university campus witnessed a wide variety of celebrations, with the Deanship of Student Affairs organizing a grand event with broad participation from university staff and students. The highlight of the artistic program was a national operetta entitled "The Day We Began... A Nation's Story," which, through its artistic tableaux, narrated the story of the founding of Saudi Arabia from its earliest roots, through the stages of unification and development, to the present day of prosperity. The performances successfully embodied the meanings of national unity and pride, strengthening the sense of belonging among the attendees.
A journey through time in heritage exhibitions
The celebration wasn't limited to theatrical performances; it also featured two distinguished exhibitions: "The Day We Began" and "Roots." These exhibitions offered a unique visual and interactive experience, showcasing social and daily life patterns during the founding era. The events were characterized by a meticulous recreation of the spaces within a traditional Saudi home, highlighting the values of family cohesion, simplicity, and generosity that defined Saudi society in the past, thus allowing younger generations to experience the details of their ancestors' lives.
Significance and historical dimensions of the founding day
These celebrations hold special significance as they coincide with the anniversary of the founding of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727 CE, a national occasion that underscores the deep roots and historical depth of the nation. The participation of major educational institutions, such as Princess Nourah University, serves to reinforce these historical concepts, highlight the cultural and civilizational heritage of the state, and showcase the enduring unity between the leadership and the people from the founding of Diriyah to the present prosperous era.
Combining authenticity with modern technology
In keeping with digital advancements, the Media and Knowledge Impact Department participated in a digital media exhibition held at the university's central library. The exhibition offered visitors an interactive experience and an educational journey that combined documented historical information with multimedia, reflecting the historical depth of the founding day in a modern style that resonates with young minds and enriches their knowledge.
Strengthening national identity and strategic goals
These integrated efforts are part of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University's national role and its contribution to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which focuses on strengthening national identity and pride in cultural heritage. Through its strategic plan, the university seeks to provide a supportive university environment for culture and the arts, and to create a sustainable educational climate that connects students to their rich history and motivates them to participate in building the future.
